Veteran Employment Program Impact Study

Partnership/Type: Veterans Initiatives
Status: Current Project

The Veteran Employment Program Impact Study is a collaborative evaluation initiative aimed at understanding how four of the nation’s most prominent veteran-serving employment nonprofit programs influence outcomes for transitioning service members.

This innovative study brings together four leading national programs: Hire Heroes USA, Hiring Our Heroes, Onward to Opportunity, and VetJobs to assess both individual and collective impact. The evaluation draws on a comparison group drawn from a large, nationally representative longitudinal study: The Veterans Metrics Initiative (TMVI) to compare employment outcomes such as job attainment, promotion, salary, and retention.

The study also explores the shared components across programs, such as content delivery, process design, barrier reduction, and sustainability, and how these components contribute to meaningful employment outcomes. This work is made possible through the generous support of The Heinz Endowments of Pittsburgh, PA.
