1. Spouse Education & Career Opportunities Website Renovation Complete
Spouse Education & Career Opportunities (SECO) is an online resource established by the Department of Defense and designed to assist military spouses worldwide with career exploration, education, training and licensing, employment readiness, and career connections. This highly informative and user-friendly website was recently revamped to add some new features and functionalities.
2. Featured Resource: Military Kids Connect
Military kids face unique challenges such as frequent family moves and separations from parents due to deployments. Sometimes military kids may also be living with family members who are themselves dealing with challenges such as post-traumatic stress or physical disabilities. These kinds of stressors can affect the health and well-being of military kids. The National Center for Telehealth & Technology created Military Kids Connect (MKC), which is an online community for military children (ages 6-17 years old). MKC provides access to age-appropriate resources that support children who are dealing with the unique psychological challenges of military life.
3. Guard Your Health Provides Health and Wellness Tools Targeted To Soldiers And Families
Maintaining mission readiness, while balancing dual responsibilities as citizens and soldiers, can present challenges for Army National Guard soldiers and their families. Enter “Guard Your Health,” a website dedicated to the unique health and wellness needs and experiences of Army National Guard soldiers and families. The website provides an online hub for the Army National Guard community to find information and resources on health topics and medical readiness.
4. Continuum of Programs
The Clearinghouse Continuum of Evidence has reached a new milestone! Over 1,000 programs that can be used to benefit military families have been reviewed. This year the Clearinghouse is reviewing additional programs, as well as re-vetting the programs that were first placed in 2013 for new evaluations and program updates.
