Kellie Forziat Pytel, Ph.D., LPC, NCC, ACS
Part-time Research and Evaluation Scientist
Kellie Forziat Pytel, Ph.D., LPC, NCC, ACS, a part-time Research and Evaluation Scientist, received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the Pennsylvania State University. She received her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis on working with the military population from Lock Haven University. She has also earned two B.S. degrees—Psychology and Crime, Law, and Justice—from the Pennsylvania State University. In practice, she is a Counselor Educator and Licensed Professional Counselor and is recognized as a National Certified Counselor and Approved Clinical Supervisor. Her main professional interests in research are military and first responder issues, suicide prevention, trauma treatment, counselor wellness/self-care, and counselor training/effectiveness. At the Clearinghouse, she supports several implementation and evaluation projects associated with the Department of Defense’s Family Advocacy Program (e.g., [FAP] Staffing Tool). In addition, she was a Navy military spouse for several years.
