Nicole D. Hurlbutt, Ph.D.
Associate Director
Nicole D. Hurlbutt, Ph.D. (she, her, hers), serves as the Associate Director for the Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness at Penn State. She received her Ph.D. in Workforce Education and Development, Human Resource Development, and Organizational Development from Penn State University and a master’s degree in Organizational Development and Change from Penn State.
Dr. Hurlbutt is an organizational development consultant and subject matter expert in areas of engagement, leadership, and organization structuring. She provides training and consulting services in Appreciative Inquiry, strategic planning, and process improvement; is skilled in small- and large-group facilitation; and has led organizational interventions for volunteer non-profit agencies and higher education. As the Associate Director, Dr. Hurlbutt is responsible for providing management-level oversight and support to Clearinghouse personnel through process improvement initiatives; metrics tracking; organizational assessment; and the development of unit protocols around finance, purchasing, and human resources. As Associate Director, Dr. Hurlbutt is a member of the unit’s Leadership Team and works collaboratively with the Director and Principal Investigator(s) to develop unit strategic plans and address staffing needs and performance concerns.
