Incident Determination Committee Quality Assurance

Partnership/Type: Department of Defense Family Advocacy Program
Status: Current Project

Since 2020, the Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness at Penn State (Clearinghouse), in partnership with Military Community and Family Programs, Military Community Advocacy (MCA), and with support from the Family Translational Research Group (FTRG) at New York University, has been conducting a multi-phase, multi-year quality-assurance (QA) assessment of the Incident Determination Committee (IDC; or Central Registry Board [CRB] in the Air Force) and its associated processes across the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps. This assessment effort examines current fidelity to the IDC/CRB model and identifies areas for training efforts. Trainings on the Clinical Case Staff Meeting, the Incident Severity Scales, Incident Assessment, and the Incident Determination Committee have been and are being developed and offered to multiple Service branches.
